Meet Lewis ❤️
Sweet little Lewis is just 5 months old, but this precious Great Pyrenees puppy has already had a harder start to life than any puppy should.
Lewis and his brother were found wandering the streets of Montgomery, TX, and thankfully, a kind person stepped in and got them to safety. Now they are both safe with TGPR, where they can finally begin their journey toward the happy, healthy lives they deserve.
Unfortunately, our sweet boy Lewis is facing a significant orthopedic challenge. He has been diagnosed with a severe lateral luxating patella in his right rear leg, which is affecting his ability to walk properly. At only five months old, this is especially concerning because his bones and legs are still developing.
Lewis will need further evaluation, including X-rays and an orthopedic consultation, to determine exactly what is happening with his leg and what treatment will give him the best chance at a normal, active life. Severe cases can sometimes require a combination of surgical procedures to properly realign and stabilize the knee, but we won't know exactly what Lewis needs until the orthopedic specialist evaluates him.
Despite all of this, Lewis is still just a BABY. He deserves to run, play, zoom around the yard, chase toys, and experience all the wonderful things a puppy should get to experience. ❤️
For now, we're focusing on getting him the medical care he needs and giving him plenty of love and encouragement along the way.
